More MN State Fair outtakes

Sometimes we have more video, sometimes not so much. Here’s some additional footage from this year’s MN State Fair.  Now we just have to find the video camera to shoot some more.

Spirit Lake show canceled.

Due to proximity, Tonic Sol-fa has decided to cancel it’s self-promoted Spirit Lake, IA show on December 11th so as to not compete with the Jackson, MN show on December 9th which was booked first.  We apologize for the oversight and any inconvenience this may have caused.   TSF looks forward to performing in Spirit Lake in the near future.

Holiday Tour Online Mailer

Check out detailed information for our 2009 holiday tour .

Earlier this week, we flew the friendly skies of United Airlines for a private gig in Chicago.  While the skies and employees of United were indeed friendly, one particular passenger was not (and it wasn’t me this time).  Because of the extra audio gear that we carry-on (which is ALWAYS held and inspected by the TSA (that’s a story for another blog), we customarily arrive at the airport two hours before the scheduled departure time.  As we are waiting in a moderate to full check-in line, we are interrupted by a frazzled woman pushing her way to the front of the line claiming to be late for her flight.  Being that we had plenty of time before our own flight, we were happy to oblige.  She made her way to the kiosk and in a matter of minutes was off to her gate.  We continued with our normal check-in procedure and in about thirty to forty-five minutes arrived at our gate.  At this point we have a little more than an hour before before departure.  We have an on-going card game of 500 that the four of us resume whenever there is a bit of downtime on the road, in this case, at the gate.  After about 30 minutes of being schooled by Jared and Shaun, in walks the woman who was frantically budging to the front of the check-in line!  She calmly sat down, checked through her things and waited to board the flight with the rest of us.  I pondered her motivation for a minute (or two)….coffee, breakfast, bathroom, last minute airport shopping, airport rookie, a combination of explanations perhaps.  For some reason, it is still a curiosity to me and I hoping that writing this blog will relieve me of the speculation allowing me to move on to better things, like learning my parts for the upcoming holiday tour.
