Tonic Sol Fa

Texas was a blast to me. It is amazing to venture out into the middle of Northeast Texas and feel like we were performing to a Minnesota crowd… a crowd who knew us a bit and understood our crazy ways. I think that with the PBS tours we are planning for the spring of 2011, this feeling will be much more commonplace. So to everyone who keeps flying in to our Midwestern shows, we WILL be coming to you shortly. New songs, LED screens, sound, PBS special, even new clothes?…2010 is shaping up to be quite a year for us.

Kickstarter project

We’re 80% funded for our new TV project. Please donate $1 (or more) today!

Clothing optional

We get a lot of email asking where we purchase stage-clothes for the group. Now, we can’t vouch for everyone 100% of the time, and certainly not if you bump into one of us on the street or at the gym. And then there’s the occasional person who yells at Greg, “I’ve got that shirt!”, which is when Greg decided to avoid Old Navy for concert attire (not that there’s anything wrong with Old Navy). In his defense, this was a few years ago. None of the stores below are any big secret, but if you come to our show, please, no loud exclamations regarding your similar wardrobe pieces. The following list was put together by our very own fashionista, Shaun, and even includes what he specifically likes about each store.

Top 10 favorite men’s clothing outlets:
Len Druskin Outlet (best all around)
Details Style Lab (most relaxed and unique)
Elsworth (best service)
Atmosfere (great selection)
Smack (favorite in Nashville)
Rhythm (first love in Florida)
Cold Method (love the brand)
Intoto (quality)
BlackandBlue (nice pieces)
Bonobos (amazing online dress pants)

Greg’s Top Ten songs

We put Greg on the spot, and asked him to put together a top 10 list of songs. Actually, we snagged his ipod when he wasn’t looking and determined the top songs he’s been listening to, and even though he’s completely comfortable with his song choices, he wants it noted that this particular playlist is for March 18th, 2010, and in no particular order (even though he put numbers next to each song. Strange, huh?)

1. Lincoln Avenue-Train
2. All Will Be Well-Gabe Dixon Band
3. Gypsy Road-Cinderella
4. Dixieland Delight-Alabama
5. Boys of Summer-Don Henley
6. Alphabet Street-Prince
7. Heart of Life-John Mayer
8. Bad is Bad-Huey Lewis
9. Best I Ever Had-Vertical Horizon
10. Here Comes the Sun-The Beatles

As predicted, we did find the following songs to be runners-up…

Ice Ice Baby – Vanilla Ice
I’d do anything for your love (but I won’t do that) – Meatloaf
She Bangs – Ricky Martin
Rico Suave -Gerardo
Barbie Girl – Aqua
Sussuidio – Phil Collins
My heart will go on – Celine Dion
I’m Too Sexy – Right Said Fred
Hangin’ Tough – New Kids on the Block

Bye, bye Ford diesel rear-wheel drive.
Drove the 350 past 250(k) and the engine did die.
Four-old boys drinking liquor and wine singing,
“What’n tarnation we gonna drive?  What’n tarnation we gonna drive?”

Now the three men I admire the most, Jared, Greg and our gracious Host (Shaun),
we raised our glasses in a toast,
The day the diesel died,
and to our brand-new four-wheel drive, yes, our brand-new 5.7 liter V8 four-wheel drive!
