Tonic Sol-fa guest blog contest!

We try and try to post blogs and news as often as we can, but most times fail miserably. In an effort to see our dream of recurring blogs come to fruition amidst our writers block (and o.k., occasional bouts of laziness), we are holding the first annual “Tonic Sol-fa blog contest”!

The blog can be about whatever Tonic Sol-fa related topic you’d like: a concert experience, introduction to our music, fist-fight with Plastic Santa,  bumping into Shaun at the local Walgreens. Anything, just try and keep it PG. To be eligible for a chance to win one of our fabulous prizes it has to contain all of the following:

- Our website address (www.tonicsolfa.com) including the hyperlink to our site. Please, no hyperlinks in blog other than ours.

- Blog content having to do with our group, group members, Tonic Sol-fa’s music, etc. (Must mention Tonic Sol-fa).

- Must be in English and have limited spelling and/or grammatical errors.

- Blog should be at least 150 words. No duplicate content.

- The post must be accessible from the home page.

- You agree to leave the blog up for at least 6 months.

If this doesn’t scare you off, you can submit your full name, email address, and link to your blog entry to info@tonicsolfa.com with the subject BLOG CONTEST . We will then choose first, second, and third place winners from the eligible entries. Winners will be chosen April 15th, 2011.

Prizes:

1st Place: Pick a song for our 2011 Holiday Tour set-list (from a list of pre-determined song options).  Each night we will introduce the tune as your preferred TSF selection.
2nd Place:  Be a part of our video pitch to the History Channel and Discovery TV.
3rd Place:  Name our upcoming holiday CD release (pending TSF final approval).

February is here!

Don’t know about you, but winter is starting to get on our nerves. We’ll try not to complain too much as the rest of the country has had quite the nasty winter as well.  Jared was unfortunate enough to be one of the unlucky masses that had his car towed because of the “snow emergency” in Minnesota, as the law decided to make an example of him once again. He’s beginning to wonder if bicycling (even in the winter, even on long distances) might be his better option, considering his luck with the automobile.

The beginning of the new year is always a bit slow as we’ve just come off our holiday tour, which has had us on the move nonstop since November. So January feels like a standstill, even though there’s a lot of other stuff needing to be done. It’s just not the “fun” stuff.

Now that we’re rolling into February it’s more of the same. The cool thing about the “down-time” is we are working on a brand-new holiday album, and a bunch of new non-holiday songs for our regular shows we’ll start adding to our set-list soon. All-in-all things are moving right along.

PS – Anyone want to trade a car for a bike?
